Cabe & Todd's Wedding weekend on the Oregon coast!
Friday morning we headed up to Astoria, OR where I was FINALLY able to see the house from The Goonies!!! I have been dying to go to Astoria and see this place since the 80's, for real. It was everything I thought it would be and more. We were even informed that we were the 55th car of the day to stop and look at the house! There was a sign that said "Goonies on foot, welcome". So cute, gotta love the owners for being so great about everyone coming to see their house all the time!
The view from the house
That night we had a campfire on the beach and made gourmet smores (sub a reeses for a piece of chocolate...quite a dream).
The Welcome BBQ for guests of the wedding!
With Spry's fantastic sales tactics, she finagled us a free ride on the bumper boats! We told the kid we could drum up business for them if he let us on those boats for a bit. As you can see by my excitement as I am about to slam into the dock, we had a great time! And it totally worked, there were no people in line when we arrived, and about 2o when we left! You're welcome.Thursday, July 2, 2009
I'm Off!
I am heading down to the beautiful Oregon Coast this afternoon for a fun-filled 4th of July weekend! We will be celebrating the nuptials of our good friend Cabe on Saturday. Sunny, perfect weather is predicited (which is unheard of for the OR Coast). I can't wait for BBQ's, bonfires and sunning on the beach with my girlfriends, as well as attending a super fun wedding Saturday evening!
Happy 4th of July to everyone!

Happy Song
I was driving to work today and I saw this girl standing on the corner, waiting for the light to change so she could walk across to her bus stop. This girl just made me laugh and smile! She was singing, dancing around and couldn't stop smiling. It was as if she was listening to the happiest song in the world, and was starting the best day of her life. I watched her for a couple minutes closing her eyes and doing these mini dance moves, all while a huge smile lit up her face. I wanted so desperately to ask what she was listening to, just because I think everyone needs to listen to a song like that at 8:30am, but she was across and over to the bus before I even could.
I decided that I need to think about what my "Happy Song" is, and then have it on hand for those days when you just really need one. What is your happy song? Now I'm just curious...

A weekend of Showers!

Sunsets
I realized when living on my own, that I may start to feel a little bit more "grown up". I now buy flowers for the table, and set out candy for my guests (btw, did you know they make a package of Starbusts called "Favereds" filled w/only pink & red ones!? It's a dream!) Anyway, I would definitely consider myself responsible & independent, so I expected that I would have absolutely no problem living on my own and that things would just be the same for me, except I didn't have a roommate anymore. But what I didn't expect, was that I would feel like such an oldie all of a sudden! I come home from work and go for a walk every night (granted it hasn't been too long, but I'm getting into a routine). I like to look at all of the old, beautiful mansion-like houses on my street and pick out which ones I would like to live in, etc. So last night, I was out for my nightly walk, and looked over to see the sun was about to set. I wanted to get home in time to see the sunset (oldie), but was still about 10 blocks away from home, so I ran. Those who know me well know I never "run" anywhere, because I don't really enjoy it, but I won't lie...I kind of enjoyed it! It actually felt great! I was laughing to myself while running, because I pictured Kelly Bensimon (the super annoying one from the Real Housewives of NYC) when she films that absurd scene of her running along with the traffic in Manhattan, and she looked so ridiculous! Not that 10th Ave in Seattle is anything like the streets of New York, just like running past all these people out walking/running and lots of cars everywhere (minus no one was filming me). Anyway, point being, I made it home in time for the sunset (and went running, kind of). I ran up to my apartment just in time to catch this*:
*I in no way edited this photo...yep, the sky actually looked just like that. Seattle is seriously SO pretty (when it's not complete crap outside).
