Marathon weekend!

Did I have anyone fooled for at least one second that I was running a marathon this weekend? Didn't think so...but I will be at the finish line tomorrow morning. It just won't be after running 26.2 miles to get there, it will be after driving there ;) Brad is running the Seattle Rock 'n' Roll Marathon tomorrow, I am so excited for him! While I am not super excited to get up at 5am and drop him off at the starting line in Tukwila, I can't wait for him to cross the finish line sometime tomorrow morning! Way to go Brad, I am so proud of you!

Blood Sisters?

I have known Kris since 1991, when we started 6th grade at Pioneer Middle School. We continued to go to school together for the next 11 years, and then live together for another 7. Kris is someone who has always been like a sister to me...we just "get" each other. This morning, as weird & coincidental as it was, actually makes perfect sense to me! Of course we would...

Kris and I are probably the only two people, out of everyone that we know, that has NEVER had their blood taken. Call it a healthy youth perhaps, or a lack of proactiveness into our 20's...but neither of us ever had a clue what our blood type even was. We would say over and over "We REALLY need to go get our blood taken sometime" but had yet to do it.

Out of the blue, I went and had my blood taken this morning, no appointment or anything...at Northwest Hospital. When I walked out of the hospital, I grabbed my phone to text the only person I knew who would appreciate hearing that I finally did this. As the text left my phone, I instantly received a phone call...from Kris. "Omg, I just got my blood taken too!!!" she told me. She was on the same street, just a couple blocks away at the outpatient center getting her blood taken at the EXACT same time, and had her phone out to text me the same thing! What are the chances that we go 29 years without ever doing it, and then do it on the same day, at the same time, at the same hospital, without appointments and unbeknownst to each other!?

Weird, right?!

Baby Charlotte Grace + Alderbrook Wedding

Well I must say, my weekend kicked off in the best way possible! Holding a baby that was not even 8 hours old :) After waiting and waiting for her arrival, staring at my phone all night long every 10 minutes...my oldest, & best friend Courtney, gave birth to the most perfect little girl.

Charlotte Grace Juhl was born at 4:14am on Friday morning, after a very LONG day & night. I walked into the hospital room shortly before noon and saw this:

She brought tears to my eyes. Well, they both did. So incredibly perfect, she just melted my heart. Congratulations Courtney & Nick, I couldn't be happier for you. You will be such amazing parents!

Switching gears, the next day we headed off to Alderbrook Resort for the wedding of one of Brad's fellow fraternity brothers.

Pretty sure we couldn't have lucked out more with the weather, since lately there is a 95% chance that every day it will pour rain. It was a perfect, sunny day!
