Hot Child in the City
Yep, that's me. I escaped my 100+ degree apartment last night & reunited with my old roomie Kris, at her luxury new digs (The Cristalla) downtown. Along with an amazing rooftop deck & fabulous dinner overlooking the city, Kris' place has AC. I was the happiest girl in the world last night. Thanks friend for such a wonderful retreat, and for letting me be a refugee at your incredible condo!

The Incredible Journey
A lost dog who travels over 4000 miles from home over a four year period is found and returned to his owners. A lost parrot who recites his address to the police and was then taken home. And a lost cat who shows up again 9 years later...incredible! Not much makes me happier than cute animal stories of pets who reunite with their owners & take incredible journeys far away from home.
I honestly think it is amazing how animals have that instinct to find their home again (i.e. Kris' cats in Walla Walla who found their way to their old house after a move across town not once, but TWICE!). In this article on msn.com today, you will find stories of animals who were rescued and reunited with their owners. *Sigh* If only Maui, my "lost" kitty that did NOT get eaten by a coyote btw, would just come home again. She's been missing for 8.5 years and I guess would be 20 years old now. What!? It's possible right!?

Meeting Baby Claire
Earlier this week I went down to Tacoma (a casual hour and forty two minute drive from Kirkland, ugh) to see my cousin Scott, his wife Sarah and their new baby Claire. They are in town from Florida and had a get together for everyone to come meet their new addition. She is so sweet and never cried at all. I held her for quite awhile (yikes, babies are heavy!) Sarah said she is a dream and sleeps 9 hours straight every night! If only all babies were like that...

Cabe & Todd's Wedding weekend on the Oregon coast!
This past weekend I headed down to the Oregon coast to celebrate the wedding of my good friend Kristi Cabe, as well as the independence of America. We had such a fun weekend! The weekend started on Thursday afternoon, with a roadtrip down to Seaside, OR. I traveled with Jamie, Lisa Gregory and Lisa Spry.
Here we are watching Sex & The City the movie in the backseat thanks to Spry's luxury vehicle.
Friday morning we headed up to Astoria, OR where I was FINALLY able to see the house from The Goonies!!! I have been dying to go to Astoria and see this place since the 80's, for real. It was everything I thought it would be and more. We were even informed that we were the 55th car of the day to stop and look at the house! There was a sign that said "Goonies on foot, welcome". So cute, gotta love the owners for being so great about everyone coming to see their house all the time!

That night we had a campfire on the beach and made gourmet smores (sub a reeses for a piece of chocolate...quite a dream).

With Spry's fantastic sales tactics, she finagled us a free ride on the bumper boats! We told the kid we could drum up business for them if he let us on those boats for a bit. As you can see by my excitement as I am about to slam into the dock, we had a great time! And it totally worked, there were no people in line when we arrived, and about 2o when we left! You're welcome.

I'm Off!
I am heading down to the beautiful Oregon Coast this afternoon for a fun-filled 4th of July weekend! We will be celebrating the nuptials of our good friend Cabe on Saturday. Sunny, perfect weather is predicited (which is unheard of for the OR Coast). I can't wait for BBQ's, bonfires and sunning on the beach with my girlfriends, as well as attending a super fun wedding Saturday evening!
